HP iPAQ hw6515 Review
sinisa Please, can somebody tell me how I can put a different song for message, when I say a different I think new song, not his songs

<unknown> Prospective buyers,
(previously owned O2 Mini prior to switching to HP6515)
Several worthy point to watch:
The normal pocket pc themes will be displayed half when chosen as today screen however there is theme generator software to fix this problem slightly.
The colour saturation of the display is not as nice as O2 mini
The thumbpad light is strong enough in dark environment though abit small. respons quite good.
The camera flash is good and better quality picture then o2 mini which have 1.3mp as well, though personally i don't like the camera screen prior to taking pics.
Mp3 sound quality better and louder than O2 mini
cheers!!!
Scorpion6 I brought this device thinking I was buying the state of the art PDA / phone. I found the menu functions very un-user-friendly and complex (like everything was hidden and not obvious). Within 3 days the cradle (to charge and sync) failed and the error code 608 came up. Checking the hp support site - it was not listed, and they never replied to my email outlining the fault - poor service. I ended up losing my contacts as I couldn't hotsync or save them to the memory card. I found the keyboard annoying compared to the touch screen..Very dissappointed for the price paid - took it back for refund. Now looking at JASJAR?
Telly L. Hi Everyone,
I've been using a HP iPAQ hw6515 for about two weeks now. It's a really great device.
The only negative I find is the size. When you use it as a phone, it feels like you're putting a brick against your ear. It's simply too big. I'm pretty much decided to stick with the Palm Treo 650 I also have.
Let me know if you agree that the unit simply does not feel like a phone. Thanks.
-Telly L.
<unknown> And I noticed someone talking ringtones. Well, record your own... up to however long you want. Use SOTI pocket controller professional to transfer them and get them working and you have everything a ringtone fanatic could ever want. I currently have 1 minutes-worth of the A-Team as my ringtone. (Yes, I know I'm sick) but the possibilities are there.
CW I just got this phone about a month ago, and I am just getting used to it. I can say it's a little quirky to get setup initally, but once it's done, you can't beat the features.
PROS:
-Using TOMTOM Navigation software with the GPS feature is AWESOME. Throw away that MS pocket streets. I was looking at the Magellan Roadmate and Garmin GPS's that sell for over $800 each, so this alone can make the price of the HW6515 a steal. I have used many GPS's and this TOMTOM software on here is dead-on accurate with perfect voice prompts. It even has accurate traffic updates & wrecks if you enable it.
-MS Voice Software works well for voice dialing and announcing caller id's. This is nice since I can not figure out how to assign a particular ringtone to an individual caller.
-It works great with a 2 GIG Mini-SD card for watching MP4 movies (with the right player) as well as storing all of your MP3 songs.
- Add an external WIFI Card for the extra SD slot and you'll be surfing high speed with everyone else.
CONS:
-It is hard to use just as a "phone". You can not hold down a number key for one touch speeed dial which I miss.
-Sometimes when using the GPS and/or watching a movie, you simply can't answer a call. It just kinda "locks up" Typical Windows.
- The battery power is dismal. As posted before using the PDA all day checking your email and such with the backlight on, you can barely get 8 hours work of power. Listening to MP3's - Forget about it. I find myself charging it every chance I get. I just ordered a new high capacity battery, so I hope it will help.
-Most all apps, games, themes are for the bigger PDA screens so they do not work well on the smaller screen on HW6515.
- So far there is no IR Remote control software that works with the hw6515 that I have found to work with your TV and such.
Hope that helps some of you. I wouldn't trade it for all it does, I can put up with the quirks.
