i-mate PDA2k Review
Clive I need a phone with wireless, blue tooth and infra-red connectivity. Will be used for E-mail, Internet, Excel, Word, Calendar and Appointments. So far I have looked at the i-mate PDA2K and the Nokia 9500 Communicator. The i-mate appears to be the best option. What would you recommend and why?

Sir you can download the latest ActiveSync from Microsoft webpage and use it with your PDA the ActiveSync can identify your phone with out any driver.
Ollie Can anyone help!! I'm a technological virgin and have just brought a secondhand pda2k with NO SOFTWARE!! I know it was stupid!! Can someone help me as i don't know what i need to download to connect to my laptop to transfer files, contacts, mp3's etc!

when a call comes ,you cannot answer it.i bought 2 weeks ago my i mate pda2k now in service it is the 2nd time.in turkey they dont change whit the new one.you must send the phone 3 times to service whit the same defect than you can change.NEVER BUT NEVER BUY
Mauricio I had the same question about the RINGTONES. I ended up using the Microsoft Sound Recorder to create my own ringtones because there is nothing available for this PDA. I just palyed my music on ITunes and recorded and transformed into a .wav file. Then put on my device and set as a ringtone. Even better because I have the real song playing when someone calls.

1.You can find the memory option in start/settings/system/memory
2.I am using both MMC and SD card and both of them are working fine with my PDA
3. You can download activesync for free from microsoft website. this is the only application you require to get it connected with your PC via bluetooth
Ohmos I own an imate PDA2k with 1Gb emmory stick attached. Suddenly, after a year and a half, while doing a backup, it gave me an error message but continued the backup after clicking SKIP. The backup was finished successfully as per the message shown on the screen. The bluetooth icon also disappeared.
To my amazement clicking on start only show 'Today, Recent Programs [grayed], Programs and Setting]the list of programs installed; so pressing on any of the preset keys. However, clickig on Settings brings up the sub-menues [Personal. System, and Connections].
Amazingly, clicking on Settings>System>Remove Programs brings a list of all installed programs.
Does any one know what is the problem? Many thanks indeed for any advice.
