roop i'd bought this phone last month on may 20. it's real value for money. i agree that ringtones are not loud enough but this is the same problem with almost all the phones
with polyphonic ringtones for eg panasonic gd68, samsung c100 have low sounding ringtones. other than this there's nothing
to complain. it got just the features an average user needs.
i agree that there are many phones with lots of features but we have to spend xtra money for xtra features.
i think this is the best handset for its price. compare this with nokia 2600 which costs app. the same as LG G1600
though 2600 got some xtra features it's only 4096 color display no GPRS so no MMS and we can't download any wallpapers or ringtones.
if you are low on budget or if u need a basic color phone with MMS and Java and u r not a nokia or sonyericsson
fan, go for G1600 u can download some good wallpapers from wowlg.com and
also from mauj.com if u r in India
Caution: this phone is not as rugged as Nokia, so do not mishandle it.
Anita How interesting. Seems to me that Telstra must've changed something on their end that has screwed up majorly for LG G1600's MMS capability (I did find it odd that the profile they originally sent was called "Telstra GPRS" and now it's call "Telstra Active" - something must've changed).
I spent 2-3 hours on the phone with Telstra trying to rectify the problem but unfortunately they denied all liability for the issue stating that this phone is not a "Telstra approved handset". What bs.
They even at one point tried to offload the burden by sending me to LG with the default settings, saying that they would need to instruct me on how to input them into the phone properly. The LG call centre person simply laughed and said it's out of their hands - back to the service carrier!
OK, so now I at least know there's one more person out there with the same issue. If anyone else out there has run into this problem with Telstra, could you please email me at hunnee_dew@hotmail.com hopefully if i can get enough people with this perhaps we can forward this onto Telstra to address.

sydux hi. considering the price, it is a nice phone. display is beautiful, easy to use, specially writing sms is very easy n enjoyable with this phone. great battery life. the only negetive point of it is the lack of connectivity. no ir. but overall, its worthy buying
