Grace i absolutely hate this phone. i think it is possibly the ugliest phone on the planet and its menu and graphics are equally as unattractive!it makes an annoying tapping noise whilst on the 'normal' function,and comes with the worst ringtones possible.i have just purchased the new pink panasonic vs2 and reccomend it to anyone.i will be glad to see the back of my nec342i and will not purchase a blue phone ever again!

colleen barnett Anyone who bought tis phone without a data cable should have done what i did I wrote to NEC and told them it is stupid marketing to sell an internet ready phone with no transfer data cable and a rip off to have to buy one PLUS the cable is not reily available I bought 2 of these bloody phones and regret doing so NEC eventually sent me 2 data cables free of charge I suggest u complain to them LOUDLY
JB That may be true about the band, but I always recommend to my customers travelling abroad to manually select your network. Have had a few customers tell me that if you don't manually select it they had issues with it changed network all the time.

remy heya its me again i got ma phone and been pretty impressed with it so far especially with ma 2 months free i-mode but could sum 1 tell me where to get a usb cable for it tanx remy
ivo I think he wanted to know how to set up the mms perferences so that he can use mms... noone could answer you that question except if you don't ask your mobile operator for the ip adresses, phone numbers, type of connection and so on... I think it might cost you somethin to activate this feature :P
mi5 I purchased to NEC N342i a few days ago and have been impressed so far. My choice was -
NEC N410i, Panasonic P342i or NEC N342i. The NEC 410i was impressive, but also double the monthly cost and a lot bigger/bulkier. Comparing the Panasonic P342i and the NEC N342i, the NEC has a much better resolution screen and all round is a better functioning/looking mobile.
I would definitely recommend the NEC N342i!!!!!
