hmm... yeah im just about to ask tis... the protective screen u're were sayin.. isit like a protective plastic layer stick on the screen??

FrancisV. My wife just got one and we noticed that with all the pictures we've taken, black hair (or any black object for that matter) appears green, if not greenish!
I tried sending her an image via Bluetooth taken from my 6230i, and the picture appeared normal! Deffective camera? We brought the phone back to the store and it was immediately replaced.
But we had to choose from around 4 other 6131 units because apparently all had the same problem. The one we finally chose was the least greenish on black objects- but still greenish! My friend who had also bought a 6131 also complained about the greenish black objects. Too bad he was not able to exchange it. No he has to live with it, or sell it. Both phones purchased are made in China.

If you wanna get rid of that annoying sound when the phone flips open, go to "menu" --> "settings" --> "tones".
Then once you're in there, go down to the option of "other tones", and switch that to off.
Once you do this it will get rid of the sound when you flip open the phone, regardless of what theme you have.

Why you change from 6280 to 6131? I think that 6280 has more feature and ability than 6131.
Maybe because both of them use the same software system than have also the same problem.
Why don't you try Samsung E770 or SE Z550i than this 6131?Because I read our friends must charge everyday.
Or if you change for the same class with 6280 you can try 6233 or SE K610i.

Man i have the phone... the flip mechanism is ok... the only thing is that this phone has 2 main drawbacks : the camera (at night and artificial light and the battery) since u are a 6230i owner u might want to take a closer look at the 6233 (it got my attention)
The 6131 doesn't have a card included while the 6233 has a 64 mb microSD included.... both work on the same platform but in my opinion the 6233 is better: 2mp camera, it has 3G and my 6131 can't send or receive data from a motorola device...

Looks/Display: Nokia 6131 is a clear winner
Features: Nokia wins again.
Sound Quality: Sony wins
Price: Sony Z550 is cheaper in india.
Battery Life: Not much to choose btwn both.
verdict: Wanna great looking middle level phone: Nokia. Wanna practical phone with features: Sony Z550
James 6131 keypads are hyperwhite. Once you notice this, all the other color keypads arent so pleasant
