O2 XDA IIi Review

Shahid Hi!
I'm interested of buying a PDA phone and I like O2 XDA IIi but I want more Hard Disk (Memory) atleast 10-20 GB. Is it possible?
Can any one reply me?
With regards.

Hrishikesh Hi,I've been using 2i for six months and freezing and hang ups is so frequent that i think it is normal for the device. But one must admit that web browsing is fantastic on it.Though IE doesnt offer full functionality.I have net front 3.2v which is a better browser especially for email but i still cannot send video clip as an attachment. The camera is a passe and i wont recommend using it in dim light.the speaker phone surely needs much improvement. As a PDA it works great.Remember thats the reason you bought it.As a phone it doesnt offer anything extra than plain mobiles.Just dont expect laptop or desktop capability from it.If you wisely install third party softwares on it it will reward you.Over all seven out of ten.

nushu Im having sometimes difficulties receiving text messages. Does anybody knows how to hepl it ?

thanks
nu

Nick white Well. I am so glad there are people out there who actually like this thing. I have had mine for a month now, and it has to be the most unreliable piece of kit I have ever purchased. I go to a meeting and all I do is set the ringer to vibrate only, then I go to use the phone later and it has hung. 3 software resets before I can make a call AND hear the person at the other end. This is regular. Spurious hanging of the phone system. And have you ever tried to use this with a Jabra BT250v Bluetooth? I travel a whole lot and HAVE to have reliable communication on the move. Not now!!! The combination of ther Jabra and the XDA renders receiving a phone call in the car as playing Russian Roulette. It may work, cos the last call did. Then again, it probably wont. You get the bleep in your ear, and even the ring tone on an incoming call, but try answering it and I get silence most of the time. So, we soft reset the phone, we turn the Jabra on and off a few times, and it all comes back to life....... until the next call. I am about to holler at O2 AND Jabra, who will no doubt blame each other and leave me, the customer, with an item that does not conform to the UK Sale of Goods Act, in that it is NOT fot for the purpose it is sold. Yeah, you guessed. I am angry with this piece of work.

jono the xda11i is worth it if you want a mean pocket pc it has so many advanteges the fact that you can use almost any software just download it from pc to pocket pc ta da

eight Waste of money. After a month im back with my old phone and laptops.Always freeze, slow and stops responding.I wish i can get my money back.

Hedley Thorne I have had my XDAIIi for a couple of months, and yes it does lock up (due to the O2 Active software no doubt), but I would still recommend this to anyone. It has run all the software I have installed on it, it looks good, the camera is OK etc. Don't be scared out of buying one of these. If all else fails a hard reset (you lose your data) cures everything, but it shouldn't come to that. A soft reset takes only 30 seconds and cures most issues. Good PDA, good phone, good all-rounder. Oh, but buy a case for it, you don't want to drop this one down the stairs!

Khalid Terry the same thing happened to me a couple weeks ago. It dropped from my bed onto the carpet from a very short height and cracked. O2 took it and even though I'm insured and it's in warrenty said it would cost me £135 to fix. I'm insured though and o2 insure are now going to pick up my broken phone and deliver a new one.

slumberjer Just got my O2 XDA IIi and guest what its great.. everything run smoothly .. anyone can help me is there anyway i can enable GPS on my XDA..

helen I have develop a GPS tracking software in O2 Xda IIi. I have place the Maps in SanDisk Ultra II 1GB SD card (Jpg). Now I am facing the problem of sometimes the O2 will hang when I want to load the map. (2500 jpg files in each folders).Actually the map is exist in the SD card, just that it hangs when cant read from the card. The weird thing is the same application can work in O2 Xda II and O2 Xda Mini. I suspect is the Xda IIi OS problem or maybe is the O2 cannot read from the SanDIsk card. Once the O2 hang, the application will keep on hang even after soft reset, it should cannot find the map where actually the map is exist in the SD card.Any comments will me appreciated.thanks.
