Michael Jang I complain the Philips mobilephone 859, there is no sound in calling coming sometimes.
I can not understand the reason, and now, it's only 20days past when I bought it.
I can't dare to trust Philips now, and I'll tell my friends about this thing.

I´m experiencing *BIG* troubles with this phone, which i bought two days ago.
When i turn on the phone (without a SIM card), it enters directly on its main screen, asking for a SIM Card. At this time, when i press the OK button, instead of entering into the main menu, nothing happens. All keys do not work, except for the On/Off button. It seems to me that all keyboard functions gone crazy and are unusable.
The same event happens when i put the SIM Card but, at this time, after i turn on the phone, it shows the main splash screen, and asks for the PIN Code. When i try to put the code, nothing happens again. The only key working is the On/Off button.
Please... is there a way to proceed a master reset on this phone, or a way to unlock my functions on this mobile?

polypixel can somebody help me how to change incoming call alert to just ringing (not melody)? seems there are only melody tones.. not even a 1 classic ringtone. damn

marcois well for all the posters who have strong opinions about this phone, but do not OWN one, listen up. I do own one, and it's a very nice little phone. Good reception, decent camera (for the money), nice color screen, good internet features, and it really fits into any pocket. What the heck else is a phone in this price range supposed to do? and by the way, I don't think bluetooth is necassary in a phone, so I don't miss it, though I understand others feel differently. I use phones for a month or two and move on. I've had nokia, Motorola, Sony, Sendo, Siemens (least fav) and this Philips is as good as any of them. Actually, it's better than any Moto, Siemens or Sony I've owned.
Xsos Helo Philips 859 is the same like 855 but it has no 180 deg opening position (please corected). This nice phone with a great and beatiful model. an good photo quality too better than 855
Stephane 855 is exactly the same, just design change. ("Best" 2004 models). But all Philips models have almost same features. Philips makes only "middle-end" models.
I will receiv 855 West European version (French, German...) within 3-4 days !
Liviu I have this phone since 2 days ago. I like it but ... sometimes when you open it the screen is white and you have to close and open it again. Also the commands are slow fulfiled. There is no mp3 .... and that is bad. What can I do?
