Samsung D500 Review
<unknown> For the person who said that the E370 was cheaper - I don't actually think that it is. On most webites that I have looked on it is more expensive than the D500 and I do not think that the spec is as good. Fair enough, it is newer and possibly smaller but I am still not convinced that it is better than the D500. I am amazed that this phone has been out for nearly two years - it is still cutting edge technology in August 2006. Even though the D600 has expandable memory, better camera and screen, I believe that the D500 may still be a better phone. A few riends who have got the D600 as a free upgrade replacement to the D500 were quite disapointed.
Overall, the D500 is a fabulous phone with excellent quality camera and video. I was so astounded when I saw the quality of these when I saw them on my friend's phone that I have ordered one for myself! I cannot wait to recieve it - I already know that t is miles better than both of my old phones put together (and they were both - especially my firs one - very state of the art when I got them!).
Tina Hey, Jeff! I got Samsung D500 about 1 year and I have only nice things to say about this phone. For 1 second I didn`t think to change this mobile phone for some other. The gratest thing about it is 96 MB of shared memory. It`s huge memory...never to get end. I adore this phone. And it`s great looking mobile phone. I think you will be very satisfied with it if you buy it. It`s only deficiency is that is not 3G, but if you ask me, it`s not some deficiency.My opinion...GREAT MOBILE PHONE!!!

Yes, you can play sound files and mp3's without the external speaker.
Yes you can playback video files as long as you've converted them in G3P format(i suggest you either buy a usb dongle or the data xfer cable)
Camera (video & pictures + flash (white led))works good as long as you dont expect to film bed bugs mating.

The screen is big and clear enough to not complain.
Battery life' cant tell but still working after 1 year, speaking average: 1 hour per day and 500 sms per month. I charge it once per 2 days.
I believe it is safe to activate gprs, i did, but i dont use it often.
Answer to Kellie: THIS PHONE HAS A SNOOZE! Hitting "ok" will probably turn your alarm off but using the side buttons will make it ring again in 5 minutes. (must mention that the 5 melodies are very bad and you cant change them)
I love the "slide style" and to me, only thing i wish i had on this phone is the 850 mhz band which gives (at least in quebec (CAN)) a better reception indoor (especially in basements)
Overall, voting results are not exagerated and if you take care of that piece of technology, it's gonna last long.
Ps: Keep an eye on the "protective cap" you removed when you charge the D500 because it is veeeery small, you lost it? Well, you can always try to find it with the 50 megapixel phone you just bought º¿º // I hope that this critic was constructive and my english comprehensive.
kellie THIS PHONE DOES NOT HAVE SNOOZE!!!!so to get your extra 5 minutes sleep you need to reset your alarm and make sure you PRESS SAVE,this is hard when your half asleep i know because i woke up half an hour late!!im also having problems with reception where my old phone never had a problem(im with the same provider)its ok other than that
Joolz Predictive text is rubbish.... number of times I have to spell a word and save it, only to have to do so the next time is ridiculous. Found the ring tones limited and downloads do not sound too good on it. Limited skin colours. Good points are length of text you can send, slide design and graphics.

i was just wondering if anyone could tell me a few things: firstly, is slide phone better than a flip? i currently have a flip, but with no screen on the outside. also, i am 15 yrs old, is this phone sutible for my age? or is it more a mature phone? and is the screen big? coz i hate little small screens! and is the phone chunky?

pro hopper this phone is da best it so cool its got no memory slot but the the phone memory is good for music and photo's man its hot some times i play with it like sliding up and down any way if your looking for a good phone da d500 has it all

kaiser actually it's one of the phone that i admire so much before i got one. the sounds are good, just enough memory to enjoy some music, and it looks cool everytime i slide the phone to answer a call. but can anyone help me with my dilema... my downloaded pictures are a bit color distorted and a bit blurry, and when i use the camera, the picture looks dark, and when i adjust the brightness, it doesn't look good. tnx
