Samsung D720 Review
Kal Backlight timer.
Regardless of whatever time setting I have, once the slide is closed and the phone is locked, Display goes black in 10-15 second.
This is bothering me a lot now. There is no light indecator for SMS or missedcall. So basically I have no clue if there is any SMS or missed call. I have to check on my phone for time to time.
Is there anyway to fix it, please post.
Kal I had that chinese one before, I returned it back. It doesn't have Voice command/anyvoice. Check yours.
Battery life might vary as well.
Kal This is the 2nd time that my D720 turned itself off without any reason even when I had 2-3 bars battery.
I had to Remove the battery and put it back to turn it on.
Does that happen to anyone?

D720 is running on symbian series 60 lisenced from nokia. Its like a nokia phone wiht samsung look. So samsung softwares wont wokr. There are plaeny of series 60 softwares for everything..but well that comes wiht a little price.

What mobile security software did you install? does it work wiht series 60? Plz chcek wiht the software manufacturer. If it doesnt work and ginving you trouble, uninsatll it. If still your phone dpesnt work properly then you need to set it back to factory default. Post after you do so.

Ypu have to look for MMCmicro. Interestingly if you search D720 memory in google it gives you many sites offering RS-MMC. Thats not correct. There are MMC, RS-MMC, MMC mobile and MMcmicro...D720 wors wi9ht MMcmocro. So far 512mb is available. 1GB-2GB will be available soon.

Yes it is semi-automatic slide. Works smooth.
One thing that is missing in D720 is, unlike D500 it doesnt show time and date after the screen goes back.

I haven't find any free theames so far. So still wiht wiht the default ones That 3-bar battery indicator is standard for nokia phones. I dont think you can find any thesames with more bars. You have design yours i guess. There are some openend programs available in nokia site to craeate your won theames.

Yes the lysics support is like videoke. It is suppoed to show the lyrics while playing songs. But that depends on what file you playing as well. regular mp3 wont do it. I have not much knowledge on that. I belive you have create the song file along wiht the lyrics. Will post later once I find something.

Chris Out of all the D series sliders, which would you say would be the 'best'? I've had the D500 before, and loved the sliding mechanism, but for some reason when I tried out the T809, it felt like crap. Does this have the semi-auto slide?

Mine last for one and a half day with average use (say a little more than 1 hour talk time, few sms and couple of mp3 songs and videos). I don't charge it every night.
This site says talktime is 4 hr and standby 170hr.Which is same as the D720s from philipines site. The European site says talktime 6.5 hr and standby 200hrs. I dont know whats the deal. Its confusing.
D720 has two versions.
Kal It's the same 10 pin port that samsung used in other models like D500/D600. All you need to do is to get a 3.5mm Stereo Audio Adapter and plug-in your fevorite headset.
Kal Try installing the driver that comes with the CD first. then click "Get Connected" from PC Suite, windows will do some search and install the rest...and you will be connected in about 3-4 minutes. From next time onwards it wont take that long.
