Samsung S400i Review
gilbert It's a good little phone, but i'm prefer E630.
missy Is the battery gd on this fone and how long does it last for ?? xx
Brandon I got this phone about a week ago now. I like it, menu is clean and easy to use, regardless of your previous mobile.
I do have several big gripes (and one or two smaller ones) however, if I'd known about them first I would never had bought it.
1) Another poster mentions an O2 deal, and sure go for it if you don't want ANY content on your phone - and for some dumb reason that includes normal ring-ring tone. O2 flatly refuse to put the phone model as supported into their content area [even though it's Java, ie, thats why it's portable].
2) The support from Samsung is below acceptable. Case-in-point: the phone has a power-save mode that you can set the time for, but cannot setup a screensaver [eg the TIME]. Getting support on this from Samsung, has been like a visit to the dentist for Root Canal. Painful and Messy.
3) SamSung have no support for I-Mode yet. So forget about getting stuff off their site even if another model is compatable.
4) Text layout is a bit hard to get used to, but it does work nicely if you can use your left hand, or don't mind using both hands to text.
All in all I love my phone, but had I known about these things I would never have bought it.
ab it's a good phone, easy menu, good audio quality, camera is good for a phone imo and has a flash, video same, has 13MB internal memory, so will hold quite a few contacts, messages, pics, audio etc.
it is an i-mode phone.
i'm just getting used to i-mode and don't think i'll use it, i have fast internet at home, i-mode is very slow (in ireland, but apparently they're using ancient technology).
i-mail is handy just becauase it works 'out of the box', but i think i wouldn't like to get dependant on the i-mail address as i have yet not found a way to access the imail without the phone and don't think i could 'bring the address with me', in a similiar way that it used to be impossible to keep your phone number if you changed network. Perhpas this will change also.
The basic functions of the phone are good. There's a good deal of memory in in.
I like that it can play any audio as a ring-tone, e.g. a small clip of audio converted to mp4/aac (with itunes for e.g.) and sent to the phone. But though it can record audio, it saves that in a different format and can't play it as a ringtone !
i wrote a little about adding your old contacts to it at http://mynewphone.blogspot.com if anybody is trying to do the same
france very good phone but battery sucks and no mp3 ...
<unknown> Camera is roughly 0.3MP.
There is NO MP3 player.
<unknown> this phone is the smartest and easiest phone to use that i have ever owned! everything about it is quality camera, sound, ringtones and the battery life is amazing!!!
