Tiana Hi there i am considering purchasing the Z500 but without any manual, features etc. Just wondering how the MP3 player works, if it has software to download songs from a PC and how many MP3 songs it will hold.

Lulu Can anyone tell me how to get a download message set as my message alert tone? I can change the ringtone no problem but it doesn't seem like Samsung want us to change the messagr alert.
kengyell Unfortunatly battery life is very poor really... But I found the program that is able to add applycations onto firmware. It's good, simple and spanish.
Kas Useless piece of junk - need to charge the battery at the very least once a day!!! Sometimes more! Got the battery replaced - still didnt help. Will never get a Samsung again!!
Andy Ses The Z500 had a short life on the shelves mainly because its 'pony'. It has a short battery life not a great deal of memory for a smartphone (without a transflash)..you also cant use downloads i.e realtones as a message alert tone..a common feature on most samsung models. Sorry but the Z500 is not a good handset to come out of samsung..im trading mine RIGHT IN.

Mel Bishop I got this phone last year as an upgrade. It was the worst decision i ever made. Thankfully i haven't got long untill my next upgrade. Samsung have completley lost me as a customer, they say this phone lasts 270 hours on stand-by, but it barely lasts 48 hours!!! I have had many problems with this phone, i feel sorry for anyone who has it on an 18 month contract!
Andy Just got this phone secondhand and impressed with it. Like the cool blue clock showing all the time on the front but it would be nice if date showed permanently as well.
shame that when you have missed a call or got text message that the outer LCD don't flash on and of periodically to show indication that someone called without you having to open up the phone. That little mod would be cool and it wouldn't wear down the battery that much more.
Anyone know what the maximum frequency is for mmf? I have the Yamaha program and wanted to go MA-7 at 48k but the phone wont accept it so I had to go with the lower quality sound of MA-5 at 21k sampling. Reason I ask is that I had a sms talking tone mp3 and had to convert it to wave and then to MA-5 mmf so I can use it as a talking tone in mmf format for when I have a text message come in. Shame you just cant use mp3 for SMS tone.
De-Branded mine. It was 500v (Vodafone) and now the live button has gone (yippee) from right soft key and I have contact button in its place and left softkey is now for creating messages.
