brynn i wish i cud find out if this is coming out sim free in uk because they cancelled the z700 so waiting for this now & its toooo long..If its not out in uk at least i can cross it off my list & try for the p850 IF that comes out or cross that off my list and go for nokia n80 or nokia n93,,im more video capability type phone wanting & my d600 was excellant but poor batt life arhhh as they say

steve I need this phone now i've been waiting for 7 1/2 month im soooooooooo annoyed grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
XD ok, a few questions on this phone:
1. Can you change the bootload animation?
2. can you place animated gifs as wallpaper that still animates?
3. Do animated gifs lag?
4. Can you change the wallpaper on the smaller screen on the cover?
5. Can you flip the phone open with your thumb and not twist the cover?
Yes, I know these questions are very trivial, yet considering how my V3x can't do any of the things i asked for (except for no. 5, obviously), and older phones can do them effortlessly, it'd bring peace of mind if I can get a phone that at the very least runs smoothly, since I like this phone very much.

Abe First off, Sony is a great brand!!! IN TV'S and RADIO'S and other home electronics. Not in phones. They're phone's are garbage!!! Just cause the camera is slightly better in the K800, who cares. They're both 3.2 megapixels. Thats what Sony's known for, their camera's. But Samsung is known for their quality phones. They're better than any other phones out there. They look better, perform better, and are more unique than other phones. I mean who the hell is into bar phones these days. It's lame. It would annoy the hell out of me if i had to lock the phone everytime i wanna put it in my pocket or case. Clamshell is the way to go and to sthrengthen htat, they put a twist on it. Samsung basically came out with the first megapixel rotating camera and sliding phones. And god Nokia's are huge. Nice but huge. Samsung kills any other brand out there. Just cause there Samsung doesnt have IR who cares. Who the hell needs IR these days. Everything is bluetooth, computers, cars, headsets, etc. You dont see a headset with IR lol. I mean people get with the program, SAMSUNG has better quality phones and they sure are better lookin than most phones. Ok i admit that Motorola stunned "the world" with the Razr and Slvr series but the phone's are terrible, camera sucks, and its the slowest phone possible. EVERYONE has the razr, including me (Dolce and Gabana V3i) and i think it SUCKS!!!!! The only reason i got it was to get a phone no one has in my area and i'm waitin for the Z710 to come out. You better believe that i'll be one of the first to have it. Thanks and ALWAYS choose SAMSUNG.

Z710 uses CCD matrix. there are very few camera phone with CCD matrix lense like Sharp 903SH..which is one of the best camera phone.but well never been reviewed or compared. The majority of competitors like K800/K750/N73/N93 even D900 apply CMOS solution..the quality is said to be nearly the same but energy consumption proves to be less in CCD.Thats why I wanted to see a comparsion between CCD and CMOS solutions. and NO website did that yet.
Some interesting features in D900:it has a inbuild mobile tracking freature. Incase its been stolen and that person uses another sim card it will send a sms to a pre-assigned number (set by you) telling you whats the new number...but getting your phone back will depend on which country ur from and what kinda technology your police department uses to locate it..hehe. but im sure it will give you some relief. next is, it has a interactive background that gets darker as the day passes by and becomes night scene at the end of the day..impressive IMO.Someone says it has some heat sensors or something. Dont know for sure.

Last point: There are many people who bought D900 and there are serious discussion going on in D900 foroum here or in mobile-review site. you can find most of the sloutions if you read them thoroughly.
But Samsung is paying so little attention to Z710 so much so that it didnt even make an impact in the market. Those who has it, not posting anything good or bad. If you buy it and (I hope not but)face any problems..chances are no one will be there to halp you sort out..you have to call service center.
Personally I loved both. I never had a calm shell with Swivel screen, so i dont know how stable they are but Z710 looks so adorable.
