Ian Good for you knowing how to transfer music to the phone the only thing is VK themselves say this is not something you can do?
I am not speaking as a VK customer but on behalf of a company that are having a few queries regardnig this.
Why let what people say about the phone bother if your happy then that should be enough?
I do think that the rating this phone has been given is far too high considerng it matches the likes of Nokia n70 etc but i am sure it os good for th price however just remember the other handsets that they brougt out and all the problems they have had.

<unknown> On ur fone go to gallery, t-flash manager, select a song, click on option, then copy or move to phone. Now go back to gallery, go on music and it should be on there go to options and there you can select to put it as ringtone

Not sure why your phone's not coming on but when it's charging a small picture of plug comes up on screen and when it has finished charging will show picture of full battery
